All England Club continues to lead in sustainability.

As the Wimbledon Finals capture the spotlight this weekend, the All England Club continues to lead in sustainability. Committed to acting as a force for good, Wimbledon aspires to make a positive impact on the economy, society, and the environment in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Wimbledon's initiatives include aiming for net zero carbon emissions by 2030, using renewable energy, managing waste, promoting biodiversity, and sourcing sustainably. This year’s efforts include eliminating gas equipment in kitchens, improving energy monitoring, illustrating carbon footprints on menus, and enhancing sustainable travel options.

Wimbledon’s dedication extends beyond the tournament though. Through their Inspiring Wider Action initiatives, they also promote global environmental action and engage in local community projects via The Wimbledon Foundation and community programs.

Additional efforts include showcasing their commitments to guests during The Championships, collaborating with partners and stakeholders, and supporting local community environmental initiatives through The Wimbledon Foundation and community programs. The guest-facing theme "Environment Positive Every Day" encourages everyone to take actions toward becoming Environment Positive Champions.

Looking ahead to 2030, and as part of their aim to advocate for a positive environmental impact, the All England Club and The Championships plan to:

🎾Incorporate environmental education into programs for UK and international schoolchildren.
🎾Help guests understand their carbon footprint via digital platforms.
🎾Explore educational opportunities with media partners like the BBC.
🎾Work with the sports industry to promote positive action through the UN Sport for Climate Action Framework.
🎾Introduce water harvesting for new developments
🎾Design reusable or recyclable products using renewable, recyclable materials
🎾Work with suppliers to eliminate single-use plastic packaging
