Vasse Soccer Club joins Sports Environment Alliance

Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is pleased to welcome Vasse Soccer Club (VSC) from Busselton, WA as its newest member, joining a growing number of sports clubs taking proactive steps towards addressing climate change.

Vasse Soccer Club Secretary Anna Simpson expressed the club's commitment to environmental sustainability and becoming a carbon-neutral club.

"As a club, we recognise the part we have to play in protecting our environment for future generations.

"By joining SEA, we are hopeful that the guidance and support we receive from the organisation will help us achieve our goals to tackle climate change."

Simpson also highlighted several initiatives already underway, including the use of recycled plastic and polyester kits, the appointment of a biodiversity consultant to preserve the area around the pitches, and the adoption of non-plastic reusable water bottles.

VSC also hopes to realise its vision of building a mini 'eco-park' facility in collaboration with other local sports and community groups, highlighting its commitment to creating a sustainable environment.

In welcoming Vasse Soccer Club, SEA CEO Jan Fitzgerald commended the club's proactive approach to environmental sustainability.

"Vasse Soccer Club's forward-thinking approach to environmental sustainability is a great example of how our sector can not only reduce environmental impacts, but also implement programs that have a positive impact on our future places to play.

“We are thrilled to welcome them to SEA and to support their efforts to build a more sustainable future for our community.”
