Introducing SEA's newest member – Hockey Australia

Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is excited to welcome Hockey Australia as a member.

Melissa Gmeiner, Social Impact & Sustainability Manager at Hockey Australia explains that have recently launched their Climate Sustainability Strategy, as they commit to inspire, lead and create positive climate impact.

“We will aim to reduce our carbon footprint, commit to net-zero targets, while leveraging our influence and platform to inspire climate action within the community.

Partnering with organisations such as SEA will support Hockey Australia as well as the broader sporting industry to have impact and influence for a more sustainable future.”

Melissa goes onto to explain,

“Sustainability is identified as a key pillar of the Australian hockey whole of sport strategy”.

“Our Climate Sustainability Strategy details immediate goals, while building a vision of what our sport will look like at the time of the Brisbane 2032 Games.”
