SEA joins forces with SPORTENG
The Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is proud to announce a new partnership with specialist sports engineering firm SPORTENG.
Specialising in the planning and development of sport fields of play - with a commitment to focus their designs on eco-friendly principles - SPORTENG aligns perfectly with SEA’s mission to do more {for the world} with less {footprint}.
Jarrod Hill, SPORTENG CEO and Director explains that the company’s key sustainability strategy is focused on reducing the amount of waste being generated from their projects.
“We achieve this by repurposing existing pavement materials as sub-base material for our new pavements and thus minimising the amount of cut material to be disposed off-site.”
Hill continues that by completing targeted geotechnical investigations, it is possible to determine whether the existing material can be re-used and incorporated into new pavements.
“Not only does this reduce construction waste, but it also removes the need to import virgin construction material on site.”
Hill explains that this existing eco-focus, coupled with a desire to learn, lead, and share in the field of sustainability, is what makes this new partnership an important move towards future-proofing SPORTENG as well as the sports industry.
“Joining SEA will help us to connect with like-minded organisations, whom we can learn from and share our design strategies with - with the purpose of protecting and enhancing the environment.”
In welcoming SPORTENG to the #SEAFamily, SEA Executive Director Dr Sheila Nguyen explains that partnerships play an important role in collaborating with, advising, and supporting the alliance family.
“We are grateful to have SPORTENG on our growing {sport & planet} team. Our partners are committed to creating clean solutions, directing better decisions, and developing ways and means for us to do more {for the world} with less {footprint}.
We partner with planet-minded and forward-thinking companies and organisations, and SPORTENG is supporting our national and local sport communities to think and act on their clean future through better fields of play decisions,” Nguyen concludes.
Welcome on board, SPORTENG! Together we can #SEA_theChange!
