Karting NSW joins the #SEAChange
The Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is excited to welcome Karting (New South Wales) Inc (KNSW) to the #SEAFamily.
Founded in 1987, KNSW is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation and currently operates as the recognised State Sporting Organisation (SSO) for karting in New South Wales.
KNSW currently has over 1845 licence holders, 23 affiliated clubs and over 180 active officials supporting the sport of karting in Australia.
SEA CEO Dr Sheila Nguyen said that she is pleased to welcome the first karting organisation to a growing family of #SEAMembers.
“With Karting NSW already leading the way in the sustainability field, this collaboration is geared for {sport & planet} success.
“We look forward to working with KNSW to protect our places of play for generations to come,” she said.
As part of its strategic plan, KNSW aims to progressively introduce tailored initiatives to support environmental sustainability throughout its member clubs.
KNSW Chair Ilona Meyer explained that the organisation looks forward to engaging with other like-minded sporting organisations and taking a lead in promoting sustainable initiatives to ensure that karters can enjoy their sport for generations to come.
“Our focus is on ‘grass roots’ karting and what better way to lead, educate, and inspire our karting communities on sustainability and environmental leadership, than from day one in a kart at a local club,” she said.
“It is still early days, but KNSW is excited to join the Sports Environment Alliance, particularly as it allows us to collaborate with like-minded sporting organisations that have already taken steps to safeguard their sport for future generations.
“Our member clubs are largely made up of volunteers that are looking for guidance and assistance on how to improve in this space. For many clubs, these initiatives will be the first of their kind in karting.”
Welcome to the #SEAChange, KNSW!
