Introducing SEA's newest member – Athletics Australia

Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) are delighted to welcome Athletics Australia as a member.

Athletics Australia is in the very early stages of its sustainability journey but already understand the need to act.

Adam Bishop, General Manager of Growth and Development at Athletics Australia explains,

“Athletics being an outdoor sport, we’re particularly conscious of climate change and the significant impact that future rising temperatures will have on our ability to provide athletics during the Australian Summer.”

“As a leading National Sporting Organisation operating in a global context, we are eager to join World Athletics in taking a leadership role in not only reducing our environmental impact, but also using our influence to advocate for sustainable practices.”

In welcoming Athletics Australia to SEA, Jan Fitzgerald, SEA CEO, said that she is delighted to see Athletics Australia join a growing network of sporting organisations committed to reducing their environmental impact.

“Together, we can reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a better future for generations to come,” she said.

Welcome to the #SEAChange, Athletics Australia.
