Holy Trinity Cricket Club joins Sports Environment Alliance family
Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is pleased to announce Holy Trinity Cricket Club (HTCC) as the newest member to its sport family network of those committed to making a positive impact on and for the environment.
HTCC is a grass roots cricket club with over 250 members located in Thornbury Victoria. The club holds a long and proud history in the community and has serviced local families in many facets for over 90 years.
The club is focused on leaving a healthy legacy for not only their current players but also their future players.
On welcoming HTCC to the SEA network, SEA Executive Director, Dr Sheila Nguyen, said,
“The Sports Environment Alliance is extremely excited to have Holy Trinity Cricket Club on board. Leading on the field, Holy Trinity has placed importance on leaving a legacy off the field in their commitment to their members and greater community.”
“Holy Trinity has a strong reputation of being a family club, and we’re thrilled to help them extend their knowledge and improve their level of impact and influence on issues which will ensure they have a place to play for generations to come.” Nguyen said.
“We welcome Holy Trinity to the family and we support their journey into our clean future.”
HTCC Secretary Jen Severn said she’s delighted to align with an organisation that drives such a strong message.
“We have the opportunity to educate our members to care for our environment, and joining forces with SEA is a great platform to do just that.” Severn said.
“We focus on minimising single use plastics at our club by using non-disposable cutlery and crockery, recycling all bottles and plastics and only use reusable shopping bags.”
“We also encourage members to bring their own drink bottles rather than buying bottled water.”
“We look forward to learning from SEA and other member organisations, to help ensure we have spaces where sport can be enjoyed long into the future.”
