Sports Environment Alliance (SEA) is delighted to join forces with Netball Victoria (NV) as the newest member to the SEA family.
NV is the governing body of netball in Victoria, where they aim to empower and encourage Victorians of all backgrounds, ages and abilities to take part in the sport of netball. Whether it be playing or in an off-court capacity, from grassroots to the elite level.
On welcoming NV to the SEA network, Executive Director, Dr Sheila Nguyen, said,
“The Sports Environment Alliance is delighted to have Netball Victoria join our network of members committed to protecting the places where we play.”
“NV has the desire and aspiration to make change and their work will make a positive environmental impact for all communities.”
“Their willingness to embrace a more sustainable environmental transformation is fantastic, and we’re really excited to be part of the journey with them.” Dr Nguyen said.
NV CEO, Rosie King, said that NV is thrilled to align with an organisation that drives such an important message.
“Netball Victoria aims to set a trend where key sporting organisations look forward to the environmental legacies they will leave behind, a journey which will be supported by SEA,” King said.
“It is not necessarily about implementing drastic, organisation-wide change, but rather embracing a more sustainable future by considering how our business decisions may impact our environmental footprint.”
“This could include the use of solar lighting and recycled plastic courts in the development of new facilities, developing promotional materials and giveaways from recycled materials, and assisting affiliates who are interested in becoming carbon neutral.” King added.
